I really loved the clarity of the 2009 Summer Love Songs mix of "Time to Get Alone" but also loved the a capella coda of the Hawthorne CA version so I've created a version with the two mixed together. I've also put a bit of work into making a video so I hope you enjoy it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nVfCHQbdqfQ

"A/S/L"? "Age:24. That's when Brian Wilson made Pet Sounds. Sex: Brian Wilson was having loads of sex with Marilyn when he made Pet Sounds. Location: Gold Star Studios, where Brian Wilson assembled with the Wrecking Crew to make Pet Sounds. Hbu?"

Am I the first one who has noticed that the "Summer Love Songs" version of "Time to Get Alone" is missing the "s" on "Screaming down the mountain side"? Really odd.

I don't have a digital copy of the 20/20 version to reference, but the difference between the two I remember is the bv's are much more prominent in the 20/20 version. It's been a while since I've listened to that one, but I don't recall a big difference (if any at all) in the sound quality between the two. Aside from the a capella vocals at the end of the Hawthorne version, what are the main differences?

Loved it. The a capella bit at the end makes a great fade out.

Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone! I tried my best to pillage all the best group shots of the era for this video so I may take a while to scrounge up new media to make a worthy follow-up video, but I'll try As for the difference between this mix and the 20/20 mix. I don't have a copy on hand to compare the two, but from memory this mix is a little more separated, the violins cut through the bridge with greater affect and the vocals are produced a little differently. Louder and with reverb. Not perfect ("creaming down the mountainside") but I like it enough for it to be my preferred mix.

Doesn't the Hawthorne version also have that little instrumental section with the horns before "Lying down on our backs..."? This other youtube version mixes both and includes that instrumental "whistling" section as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f3ZtIkMBs_EThat said, this new mix is very sharp, nice and clean. Good work.
