I love these relatively minor things. 'Relatively', because from personal experience I know how, if it reached the right (receptive) folks out there, there will have been a couple of real epiphanies, and new people will join the fanbase.

I myself went this way.  Smiley

They played "beaks of eagles" on the radio. LOL

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

I know for sure there will be one or two poetically sensitive girl(s) out there who will be lifelong BBs fans from now on.

Boys may want to laugh out loud; girls will smile on the inside and visit a record shop soon.

Isn't it great to have such a fantastic radio station here in L.A.?  I was never into radio back in the FM heyday,
always choosing to listen to my own music.  But 100.3 makes it hard to ever switch to my cd's these days.

I heard "The Trader" on XM"s "The Loft" the other day. I had to do a double take.

When I was in college during the mid to late 00s, I played the entire Cal Saga on several occasions on our little 10 watt campus station. I was lucky if I`d had 5 listeners, and even luckier if just one of the listeners was not another member of the station. It would have been a miracle if anyone listening knew the BBs beyond the hits.

My friend had a weekly one hour slot at Palomar College, and we did a Beach Boys special.  He was not into the Beach Boys at all, but had some knowledge of them through being my good friend and roommate.  I got to pick all the songs and talk about them!  One of the funnest things I ever did!  I have a recording of it somewhere...the songs I remember are It's About Time, Sail On Sailor, Life Is For The Living, and Let Us Go On This Way.  I think we played On A Holiday from BWPS too, if I remember correctly.  I'll have to dig it up and have a listen!  This was from 2006 or so.
