With the exception of Rick Wright, none of the other members of Floyd had enough instrumental virtuosity to play prog. They basically created their own genre of music.

The more time goes by, the more I feel that I'm in the minority of this being one of my favorite albums of all time.

Hell, 'On the Run' pretty much inspired my writing style.

People that don't get Dark Side of The Moon should not be allowed to listen to music. It's just against the rules.

Meddle or Atom Heart Mother. Neither sound anything like the Barrett era. The only bad Floyd album before Waters completely took over is More.

Cool, will do. I suspect I wouldn't be a huge fan of Waters-takeover Floyd... Thanks!

Dark Side is overrated, song-wise, but pretty damn phenomenal in the production and engineering. The songwriting was much much stronger on Piper.

That's pretty much how I feel about post-Barrett Floyd from what I've heard of 'em. Barrett wrote excellent songs, and even the instrumentals were well arranged and interesting.

And even More has some truly great songs on it. Cirrus Minor, Cymbaline and Green is The Colour are quiet masterpieces.

Songwise, Obscured By Clouds is superior. Why nobody talks about that album is beyond me.

And The Nile Song, which is the most crushing Floyd track ever. I think More rules.
