Last night 95.5 KLOS here in LA played Sail On Sailor as a part of their "Rock N Roll A - Z" annual thing!

Pretty surreal to hear it blasting from the FM dial.

Chris Carter even went so far as to mention that it was neither Brian or Mike on lead but Blondie!!!

I heard it once in a McDonald's bathroom in Tucson, AZ.

I heard it once on a classic rock station here. But that was because I called in and told them to play it. The way the moderator introduced it was way cool. He said the next song would be SOS by The Beach Boys. And he said the words "The Beach Boys" slow, clear and in a very deep voice.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Ironically, I heard it on the radio in L.A. during the afternoon, on 100.3
They intro'd it there as the only Beach Boy hit with a lead vocal by a non-Beach Boy!

I've heard it more than once at various supermarkets. Along with Tracy by The Cuff Links. Go figure...

I heard it played at at Walgreens the day before Christmas Eve this year. Strange, because I never hear any Beach Boys songs on the radio at all.

On our way through this "backstage" maze, Bruce joined up with the group and said hello, singing "It Never Rains in Southern California" and joking with some of the older ladies. I'm not sure if they knew he was a Beach Boy or simply an enthusiastic elderly gay gentleman.

I hear Do It Again on 95.7 FM here in Charlotte, NC occasionally but that's about it.

Heh, I just imagined some chain-smoking DJ introing the song as that.

It was a middling AOR track back in the day, not surprising.

You can't underestimate Chris Carter.  That guy knows his stuff.  One of my favorite DJs.  I'm sure a Beatles fanatic like him would be into the Beach Boys based on how much they influenced each other.  I've even heard Brian do a bumper for Carter's Breakfast with the Beatles show where he introduces a song from Let It Be citing it as his favorite Beatles album ( no surprise there considering who produced it).
