I got this pic from this here board some time ago and was wondering if anyone knew if it was from the night of the circulating Carnegie Hall boot; possibly while they're "fixing the snare drum."  I seem to recall someone saying the video (as well as the audio) was professionally filmed.  I don't see Daryl but there appears to be another keyboard beside Billy.  Does anyone know the full line up from that night?  The show isn't listed on Eric's website.

Either way, has anyone heard any more about the show's eventual release.  There was a post on here a while ago saying it was pretty much in the bag.  Then TSS came, followed by the C50, and it understandably got lost in all the news.  Does anyone know the answer to any of these questions?

Hard to say - the resolution's pretty bad. Looks like a dark gray smear on my laptop.

Ed Carter is on bass.  Jesus is playing rhythm guitar.

The question becomes are the previous photos connected to "Carnegie Hall" actually of the Carnegie Hall gig? Because if they are, it doesn't match up with the photo posted above. Note Al Jardine heavily bearded, playing a Fender Strat, and wearing  a T-shirt. None of the other photos match up with that.

The bassist is 3rd from the left, wearing a white t-shirt and black vest. The guy who looks like Jesus is Al, I think.

And remember in the early 70's if you took a casual stroll through parts of New York, you might encounter at least a dozen guys sporting the Jesus look... Grin

Do you have a link of the other photos?  I don't think I've seen any that were said to be from Carnegie Hall.

Bear in mind that there was more than one Carnegie Hall show in the early 70s:

February 24th 1971...

September 24th 1971 (2 shows)...

March 20th-22nd 1972...

November 23rd 1972...

Hard to tell from the picture, but I'm gonna take a wild guess & say that this shot is not from the 11/23/72 Carnegie show.  Although there does seem to be some snare drum fixing going on.  I'm gonna guess it's some time in 73 with Carli Munoz on keyboards instead of Darryl.  Just a guess.

I found the blog post that was copied and pasted here about the show's release.  Does anyone know if there's been any more movement on it?

The article was copied from here - a post by Jon Stebbins printing Howie Edelson's piece:

Using Google Images, I was able to find this page:  http://www.pbase.com/robert_jones/image/75655900.  According to this page the photo is of them in Toronto at Massey Hall in 1974.

If it is in Toronto at Massey Hall, must be Sep. 2, 1973.
As Blondie is still there.

What did you put in the search field?  I tried "Beach Boys 1972" "Beach Boys 1973" "Beach Boys live 1972" "Beach Boys concert 1972" and every variation there of, along with a few other things and could never find the match.

Oh, and at the larger size, I can see that it is Carli, and not Billy.  Who's the guy on congas, between Dennis and Ed?

I think the conga player is Robert Kenyatta. My question is, who's the percussionist holding the sticks to the left of Ricky?  At this time it was usually Kowalski who played percussion & sat at the kit when Ricky moved to steel guitar, guitar, or flute. But that doesn't look like Kowalski.

I figured that was Kenyatta, just because of the time frame but I never knew what he looked like.  He's in a lot of pics of seen of the era.  It's good to put a face to the name.  As far as the other guy, I assumed it was Dennis Dragon but I have no idea either.

This is all just so tantalizing. A video/audio release of Carnegie Hall would make my decade.

You can 'drag and drop' or upload images to the Google Images search bar and it will search for the photo, or similar photos, on the internet.

Yeah, I learned that trick a few months ago too: If you go to Google Images, you'll see a little camera icon on the right side of the search field. Click on that camera, a new box opens, and either drag the image itself or the URL and it does the search for similar photos.
