Ok, on Today are the stereo mixes of When I Grow Up; Dance, Dance, Dance; Please Let Me Wonder; I'm So Young; Kiss Me Baby and She Knows Me the same mixes as those previously available on  the US Singles Collection, Hawthorne, Warmth of the Sun and Summer Love Songs?

Glad to hear the re-did Dance, Dance, Dance.  I was so excited when the remix came out, but it turned out to be so incredibly shrill to my ears.

On what, Sounds of Summer or Hawthorne?  I thought the stereo Hawthorne version was decent.

I swear to fuckin' Jeeves that "She Knows Me Too Well" is a new mix. The vocal has the "I can't believe it's artificially doubled" doubling on it ala the more recent mix of "You Still Believe In Me", where as the singles box set only has a single-tracked vocal for the majority of it.

Amirite?

I think so too. Maybe not a new mix, but the artificially doubled vocal effect added onto the previous Singles Collection mix?

Yeah, it definitely sounds double-tracked. Wondering if they just took the single track and doubled it and de-synched or de-tuned it slightly...

BTW...the mono mix on that CD sounds AWESOME.

I also agree. Some of the other remixes also sound different than the previously released ones, though I admit I may be tricked by them being less brickwalled.

And yes the mono mixes are incredible!

Is artificial double tracking of an old vocal a good idea? Does it work?

Let your ears decide - "You Still Believe In Me" on the new (or MSFL) Pet Sounds will tell you.
