in the current issue of People Magazine, "Inside the Beautiful Mind of Brian Wilson."  Nothing new in there, interview looks like it was done during the tour, in fact it mentions at least part of it being conducted at the Lake Tahoe show.  Nice to see him featured in the national press, though

Aww, c'mon, Mr Blaine, that was a GREAT film. Betcha never guessed in advance who the roommate was, nor the little girl! That was one of the best in-movie twists *ever*. From cold-war thriller to an entirely different kind of film, halfway through. I was seriously impressed.

The score's pretty damn good, too. Gotta love the 'Cold War Paranoia' theme in the tracks 'Nash Descends Into Parcher's World' and 'Alicia Discovers Nash's Dark World' - all James Bond chords and Dr Strangelove spookdom distilled into one nasty little theme. If Brian Wilson freaked out after seeing 'Seconds' in 1967, I wonder what he made of this film...

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I found that to be a very good read. It's sprinkled with little facts and things that are kind of quirky Brian.

Yeah...that was a pretty nice article. I'm happy that he finds refuge at the piano. The pleasure he finds there is his alone and that's what it's all about. It makes me happy that Brian Wilson is somewhere playing a piano. And you always assume that the only thing that he really cares about is music, but it's always nice to see it mentioned.  I'm kind of happy for Brian. Even though the photos are touched up, I like 'em. Deli food is the best. Right on.

Agreed.  I do feel bad for him having to put up with all those dogs though - granted I'm not a dog person in the first place, but too much of anything can be annoying.

Nice article.  I have a hard time remembering that he has a house full of young kids.  I'm sure having them around keeps him in a positive place, so that's good.

Notice in the picture that one of his sons (Dylan?) has an "In The Key Of Disney" shirt on!

If Animal Planet had an animal hoarders reality show, they could visit the house of Brian and Melinda Wilson.

Should note this article is full of typos. The writer quotes Brian as saying his stage fright leaves him when the "banks" start to sing. I wondered if that meant banks of monitors, but it's supposed to be "band.". And if you're a fan of Ms. M. L. Ciccone, there's a part you'll probably want to skip.

No, actually he meant what he said. The banks start to sing when lots of cash from concert proceeds is deposited, and when he hears that, it makes him feel better.

Hey, you gotta have a lot of cash to support eating twice a day at the Beverly Glen Deli!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

The typo is on the BW page. Click on the story itself, squint hard enough, and the actual words are 'band start'

I love the article, and the photos. Simple as it is, it is a very nice description of BW, and very respectful towards the whole Wilson family.

What more can one ask these days? New problems? Dirt from a bygone era? New stuff about the Wilson-Landy relationship (*yawn*)?

No please.

And again, the piccies are great.

People magazine likes to celebrate families, and they like a happy ending. But even so, it's a nice story. I feel like Brian is in as good a situation as he could be. He probably gets a lot of enjoyment having those kids running around to remind him what life is all about. The dogs would drive me crazy, though (and I'm a dog person, but a gang of barking dogs is pretty annoying if you can't hear yourself think).

The typos annoyed me too, but I think someone at BW's site made them-- not People magazine. No one seems to proofread anymore.

Reasonable piece somewhat marred by some shoddy research: the band were (mostly) at college when they started, and The Beach Boys have been touring without their principal songwriter for a good 35 of their 50 years.
