It's all about 'harmony' ...

Quote from Daryl Dragon:

"So I passed the audition and then I went on the road with the Beach Boys. Then after a while I taught my older brother how to play the songs and my younger brother, Dennis, who was a percussionist and recording engineer used to occasionally take Dennis [Wilson's] place. Actually on one of the album covers you'll see a drummer who looks like Dennis Wilson and it's actually my brother Dennis. I can't remember which one it was now ..."

Any ideas which picture ? Tried to figure it out but no luck  Undecided

I think it's one of those early 70's Capitol repackages, but I cant think of it right off.

There's some stuff about Dragon here.  Nothing new. Just interesting.

I believe Steve is right. There are also some pictures of Dennis taken from that event (somewhere buried in the picture thread).
You'll find some pictures from the Big Sur Festival in this post: http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,1990.msg311723.html#msg311723

I could be wrong, but...that looks like Dennis Wilson's torso, definitely wearing the shirt he wore at that show, and Dennis Dragon's head.  Other pictures from that show depict DW with longer, straighter hair.  I think DW's head was turned the other way & down slightly, and was hidden by Bruce.  I think that's DD's head from a position behind DW, and the camera's vantage point makes it come out like it's one guy.

Pretty sure that's Dennis on the album cover above. I've always thought that, since picking up that 2-fer album in the early 70's.

Dennis Dragon was playing percussion onstage with The Boys in 1972.  Here he is in England in one of the best Beach Boys line-ups ever:

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

I believe this picture comes from that occasion. Don't ask me what the surfboard had to do there...

C-man, I meant Dennis Wilson on the album cover above (WOKY) and Dennis Dragon in the videos that I posted (1972).

All these pictures from the concert in question, and the '72 video, prove my point...it IS Dennis Wilson's torso & white shirt but Dennis Dragon's head, from his position on percussion behind DW.

Dennis Dragon led the king of all 80s bands: the SURF PUNKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those 2 albums 1979 self-titled (aka My Beach) and 1982's Locals Only are not only some of the finest punk rock albums ever made but testaments the re-birth of surf-culture oriented rockNroll!
To anyone who hasn't heard them that sees this post- go get those albums!

Loved seeing The Honeys open for The Surf Punks at the old Starwood in the seventies!

We all had to sit upstairs once The Punks came on, as everyone was throwing beer cans at the stage.
