Great video!  But shouldn't this have been posted  in BBs Media/>>BBs You Tube thread?

(Personally, I didn't realize the thread I started should have been in General Music discussion.  WHT??)

Is the date of March 1966 correct for this video?  It looks more like 1965 to me, judging by Brian's haircut.

I think it's ridiculous they kept Dennis sitting at the drums like that.

I've been wondering about this for awhile. Is this really live? Look at Mike's mouth at 1:11. He's licking his lips and doesn't appear to be singing at the start of the phrase.

If it is live it truly is jawdropping.

It also sounds like there's one less person singing at that point.

No, Mike's part is still there. After watching it a few more times I believe it is definitely live...... and freakishly perfect! It looks like Mike is just singing the word "of" while licking his lips. I recall seeing Brian do that sort of thing too occasionally.

It's amazing how they achieve such a perfect blend by just gathering around one mic.

That video has always blown me away, although I suspect they aren't singing live, for exactly the reason Gregg states - it's too perfect, even for the Beach Boys at their vocal peak.  Doesn't matter though, that blend is just ridiculous.
