In the episode "Summer Song" around the 14 minute mark, Wouldn't it Be Nice is played and it sounds like one of the alternate takes with Al on lead.  Are my ears deceiving me?  The episode is available on Netflix streaming if you want to hear for yourself.  Season 3 episode 1.

No it's the usual Pet Sounds Version, but slightly sped up (=higher)

I'm guessing it was sped up due to some wacky legal reason.  I remember the Bee Gee's "Stayin' Alive" was sped up slightly in the movie Airplane! for similar reasons.  Like we really needed to hear Barry Gibb squeaking even higher.  LOL

It sounds to me like the whole episode is sped up - not just WIBN.  Maybe they had to use a PAL master for some reason and didn't correct the pitch?

I feel like they did the same thing with WIBN in the Seinfeld episode "The Hamptons."

Also, The Wonder Years is the greatest.

That's exactly what the version in the episode sounds like to me, the Still Cruisin' version.

When ya'll are saying the Still Cruisin' version, do you mean the Made In USA version? With the alternate vocal?

Where else does this alternate vocal version of WIBN appear, other than Still Cruisin’ and Made In USA? I find it odd that it wasn't on the PS box (or was it, and i'm just misremembering?). What’s the story behind this version anyway? Is it just an early vocal take, wiped to lay down the album version of the lead? It's not still on the multis, is it? It’s by far my favorite vocal take/mix, it has so much power.

Also, there were never any takes with Al on lead, right?
