Well, now the US tour has ended, it's our time to have fun... What do we hope, worry about and expect for the European leg of the tour?

I'm going to three shows -- the two in Italy and the Wembley show in London (and possibly another show if they announce any more UK dates).

My main worry is that the Italian shows start at 9PM -- which suggests we might get shorter shows for those. But I'm not *too* worried -- since they're standing shows I plan to get to the very front, and then I can watch the longer London show from my reasonable-but-not-fantastic seat in Wembley. Though I do hope that we do get the full-length shows in Italy as well.

Hopes -- I'm *hoping* we'll get the return of Our Prayer, and maybe the addition of some or all of You Still Believe In Me, Wonderful, Vegetables, Til I Die and some Love You songs (I'd love The Night Was So Young or Airplane, but Honkin Down The Highway is the only one I could see them doing). I just don't want them to drop any of the rarities they're doing (maybe Add Some Music -- never had any time for that one). Don't see any of that as *likely*, but think they're all just about possible.

I also hope they announce some more UK dates, given how much time there is between the end of the rest of the tour and those two shows...

I expect us to get at least a couple of the songs that were hits over here but not in the states -- Breakaway would be a great addition, and Lady Lynda/Little Lady should be in the set if Al's comfortable singing it.

I'm also hoping for more UK dates, but I guess we're lucky to have two. Still, I can only make the Wembley show, would be nice if they ventured a bit further north, the Yorkshire Dales up here would make for perfect accompaniment to a Beach Boys concert Grin

I too have reasonable-ish seats for Wembley, could've got better ones but my parents insisted on coming too, they appreciate how much they mean to me and want to see what the fuss is about. I bet they've missed me blasting out Love You on full volume since I moved out LOL Because of this I'm hoping they sound incredible, and I'm sure they will from what i've seen/heard/read.

"You Still Believe in Me" is on the top of my want list and it's also extremely reasonable since both Brian and the Beach Boys have done it.

Yeah, a Yorkshire show would be good, although Manchester would be better (I'd love to see them play the Bridgewater Hall).

The offer of Stainforth Village Hall as a venue still stands, though the open air Hallé orchestra gig at Giggleswick School a fortnight ago was wonderful, and could accommodate a slightly larger crowd…  Grin

I hope they won't minimize the setlist to just the usual hits but keep it as great as it was for the US dates. I'd also like to see them still adding songs that have't been played yet or just for a short while like "Our prayer".

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I'm absolutely certain they won't minimise the set for the Wembley and Albert Hall gigs -- they've always done longer sets in the UK anyway. For the continental shows I'm not so sure -- the ones I'm attending start quite late, and some (but not all) of the others are festival shows.

My hope for you guys is that the band doesn't come into playing these shows as if they're just coming off a US tour but rather treat the European tour like a complete reboot as if they're doing the US tour again.  What I mean is that they go back and re-insert all the tunes they had done in the US and re-do them all for you guys so you guys get a fair share of all the tunes they did here.

To all those hoping for more UK shows - don't bank on it.

There's a reason I said 'hope' rather than 'expect' :-/ . I'm just absurdly grateful we get any shows at all, after it looked so certain we wouldn't.
