What would Dennis Wilson do?

This happened last night. It was pretty a good interview. Highlights were Brian having a bit of a sing and talking about making another song (cant remember that it was) as big as Kokomo and Mike Love doing some sort of physical feat of strength at the end. Trying to find the video of it now.

Oh?! I don't think there is anything to get too excited about there... he was singing what seemed like a traditional song (i think) that he said he wanted to do a version of that could be as big as Kokomo. Kinda like another Shortenin' Bread. I could be wrong. The main thing was that Brian was very present and awake for a moment there singing and clicking away. Mike joined in for a bit too.

I think it was 'Honeycomb' by Jimmie Rodgers, Brian was extremely enthusiastic about it . I would love if Brian could be given the artistic freedom to go in the studio and do songs like that, he sounded really engaged with the prospect of it and I don't doubt that if he had his way it'd sound a little more inspired and 'Brian Wilson' than some of the other things he's been doing recently. I thought the interview was pretty good, but they definitely gave too much weight to the early fun in the sun image of the boys. Oh, and I must say, it was very satisfying hearing All I Wanna Do being broadcast on national television!

Didn't Brian do a recording of that before with Sping or some other act?

Brian looks like he's about to have a goshdarn heart attack in that wee backstage bit.
This is a great piece, btw. MIKE LOVE DOES HIS OWN STUNTS!

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.
What is this "life" thing you speak of ?
Syncopate it? In front of all these people?!

As I'm always saying, just make sure the interviewer is a pretty girl and Brian is gonna talk! And the end was fantastic!

Right -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xOkiO1TdX0I never really liked that song and still don't listen to it very often. Does that mean Brian thinks about doing another 15 Big Ones ? I hope not.... Bruce, from "surfing Doris Days" to "surfing Disney land"

Boy, would like to see Mick Jagger try Mike's move in the end. Unless he's too chickenshit to try it.
Re. Honeycomb, I'm all for it. There's a bunch of unearthed -and apparently very cool- BW covers from like 2008-9. If he tries the same with the group, I know I'll buy it. But then, I bought Symphonic Sounds, so what do I know.

I have to say that Brian's summation of what drug-taking did for/to him was the most succinct, objective and, apparently, honest response I've ever heard him give on the subject.

That was great! Mike doing "The Monkey!"
I would sacrifice goats for an airing of "The Monkey's Uncle" just once. If Annette can't do it, hell, Taylor Mills. Or Brian can sing it to add even more disturbing implications.

Yeah, me too. It's not an obvious song I would think of Brian to do, but I bet his arrangement would be really cool.
