We all know a good portion of The Beach Boys best output has been a collection of music that is very personal to Brian, often filled with emotions and other things that, as human beings, a large number of us also feel. That being said, are there any Beach Boys Songs - Band or Solo - that at one point or another you have been able to closely relate to?

When I Grow Up (To Be A Man)
The first line of Heroes & Villains resonates with me, although the rest doesn't obviously.

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.

during a breakup, I curl up into a Pet Sounds cocoon and shuddering sobs continue for weeks. I guess I can relate!
Other than that, yeah -- mark me down as a Heroes and Villains character.

I'm yet to actually get into that position, but I'm sure Sloop John B. helped

Exactly the same here - problem is a certain someone dislikes The Beach Boys, so, y'know, it can't be used to full effect. Sending lyrics still had an good effect anyway.

The New Girl In School. I don't care, it's still at the top of the songs I relate to.

"Girl Don't Tell Me"....you go on summer vacation, you meet a girl, you fall in love, you go back to school, she goes back to school, she never writes....that's happened to me. It's depressing at the time but years later becomes a fond memory. Can't explain why.

The most is probably "I'm Waiting For The Day"; a very romantic and wistful sentiment.
Then, in turns "You Still Believe In Me", or basically anything from PS.
"All Summer Long" (very evocative of being a kid in the summer)
"Love Surrounds Me" (if I'm in a downer mood),
"Disney Girls" (though 30 years too old for me)
