Do any of you guys like this song? I never see anyone bring it up :/ it's beautiful ..has a nice R&B feel to it...besides "Forever" & "Be With Me" it's probably the best Dennis composition...
His voice is a little rusty but the beat and the chorus makes up for it..I'm suprised it didn't chart well. :/

I love this song. Nice use of woodwinds in the chorus that give it a touch of late 60s BBs.

Yeah, it's great! Very pictorial. I always have a mental picture of Dennis and Karen walking outdoors when I listen to the song. "You open up my wallet and dust falls out, that's alright with me..." is one of my favorite lines on the album.

I like the song, but I think "Rainbows" would have been a better choice for a single.

Honestly, there isn't a Dennis Wilson composition that I don't already love. Maybe I'm not so crazy about "It's A New Day" but that one sounds kind of dated and Blondie has a hell of a time hitting those high notes. But other than that one song.....

It's one of my favourite POB songs, alongside River Song and Moonshine. Dennis always delivered the goods.

David Marks does a great cover of "You & I", and he performed it with Jez Graham in Atlanta:

I think You & I and He's A Bum sum up Dennis as a person well.

It's funny but the three record set has this track mixed a lot better than on my original. It really opened me up to the song.

Bobby Figuroa does an awesome version also.
I didn't realise how hard David can rock out.

No R'n'B, it's Bossa-nova. Really wonderful. I think this is a tune that his rusty voice was perfect for.
David also did it with Billy Hinsche and Dennis' grandson at the landmark ceremony

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

It's the creme of the puff-best thing on the album. Love some of his other tarts as well-San Miguel, Fallin' In Love, SOT, IAT, S(Holland).

I've been lucky enough to see David perform "You & I" on several occasions, including the one in the link. I'd love to hear him sing it live at a BB reunion show, in tribute to Dennis.

This song is perhaps the easiest to introduce new people to the wonderful music that is Dennis Wilson. Great song, one of the best he made, and certainly among the best on POB!

Even though 'Forever' is one of his more famous ones, it is far beyond his best. Something from POB/Bambu woulda been better. But it is a Beach Boys reunion after all I guess....

You and I, Pacific Ocean Blues and rainbows are in my opinion the three best songs on the record. always preferred side two back in the day listening to this LP.
"you open up my wallet and dust falls out" love that lyric.
