Sorry to clog up the boards, but I just want this settled. Upon viewing the TWGMTR music video, my friend is convinced that they purposely set the video in the 1960's based on the attire. I tried telling them that it is supposed to be set in 2012 (given the amount of modern things which also appear in the video as well, nevermind the fact that band appears as their old-age selves), and that these are just hipsters. If someone could please clarify, that would be great.

If it were in the 60s, there would be no "Love you"-cover.

Just a video that makes no sense (well, many don't) and is a throwaway imo

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

(IMO) It goes starts somewhere around the 50s and ends somewhere around the 80s, based on the attire and surroundings. Of course, that makes no sense when you have the 2012 Beach Boys in that garage, but....

Just let your friend think they're right, you can know you're right, and then we'll all have whirled peas

Not enjoying the video... Cool hip dudes keep oldsters in a garage for 50 years and let them out when they need some retro chic to impress their middle-class lah-di-dah chums. You can't buy beach bum status...

Right! This was mentioned on another thread. I think maybe the reason it ends in the 80's is a nod to the bands line about not having toured with Brian in over 20 years or however it was worded. So it jumps from the 80's until now and then you've got the guys all back together. Would've been cooler if they were playing in the garage though.

I dig the video.
Radio thru the last 50 decades.
When we get to now, those hipsters go and meet the BBs, who are in a garage ready to perform... Just like it all started. The BBs, a living legend, just make a cameo, which I find classy.

I don't see anything wrong with it. It's well filmed, the girls are gorgeous, the guys are cool... I mean, c'mon! It's just a music video!
