Fallon is a GREAT musical impressionist who can not only imitate but also has a really nice singing voice that makes his impressions all the better. But he's not a great interviewer. Effusive and reverential as he is to his guests, he gets hyper and nervous. It adds to the charm of his nice-guy persona, but sometimes it's a bit unnerving. I just hope that goes over okay with Brian. Maybe he'll sing with them instead.

I interviewed Brian just this afternoon for a piece I'm writing for the Toronto Star. He said they would be doing "In My Room," "Wouldn't It Be Nice" and a third one he couldn't remember. Probably the new single.

I have to mention something that *may* be a possibility judging from earlier Fallon shows.

The band rehearses in the afternoon as shown in that Facebook photo. I don't know how often this happened, but once in particular they actually made the rehearsal footage available. Ice Cube was sitting in with The Roots that night, and as a warm-up/fun thing to play, they busted out NWA's "Straight Outta Compton". Roots guitarist Captain Kirk *nailed* the Easy E vocal, and the whole performance was electric. Someone shot a video on their phone (if I remember), Questlove Tweeted a link to the video, it went viral, and eventually they got so many requests that Fallon aired the rehearsal video on his show.

So if...just *if*...they bust out a Pet Sounds or Smile cut off-air, which would be absolutely cool as anything - it could still reach the fans, no matter what they actually do on the show.

Fallon, unlike some other hosts, is a true musician and a music fan who is respectful and knowledgeable about the artists he hosts on his show. I trust there may be a bit more to this than the usual stock appearance where they do one tune and split.

At least I hope there will be more...

Al, a train, come on, it's gotta sound like a train, a locomotive, the iron horse? You're not sounding enough like a train. Jimmy really luvs us a lot and wants us to play one of our REAL songs cuz he's a real music fan, and you're not really nailing it like you should be, Al. Come on, it's gotta be perfect. We gotta do this one right for Questlove too because he also luvs us. When he was tweeting about us on Twitter about that Smile box set thing, he was tagging all his tweets with #petsounds cuz it's the illest album EVER. So, let's go, let's make this happen, people! Well, nice mention by Bill O'Rielly just now saying the BB are at the top of his must see concerts this Summer. But I would have expected Bill to include Al, in mentioning that Brian Wilson is back with the band.  Based on his expressed love for the group over the years, he should have known better.

That would be great.  This should be good.  I loved when Macca was on Fallon about a year and a half ago and they sang "Scrambled Eggs", which was hilarious. 

By the way, I'd be curious to know the last time Brian was on a show like this (comedy type show, live studio audience, etc.) where he wasn't just a musical guest.
