Unfortunately, I have doubts that the myth will ever die. Look at the Hoffman board and you will find that myth repeated time and time again on various BB threads, and the disbelief when people are set right  there is discouraging. Many people plainly can't deal with that myth being taken down, maybe because it somehow upsets some sort of hierarchial vision of sixties music or something.

We need myths. Carol Kaye played bass on all Motown hits, for instance.

Biding time

Carol Kaye plays in my bass-ment. She's been there for 30 years now, and has scratched the cords to Good Vibrations into the brickwork with her fingernails, at least a hundred times. She thumps out the bass lines to more than 600 top ten hits from the 1960s on a rotating cycle, and finds time to post to her Facebook page several times a day.

All this in the dark.

Occasionally we light a fire to keep her warm; we know when it's burned out because we can hear her start to play "Workshop", through the floorboards.

"So this is rebuilding after the fire, right?"

Is this post too weird? Should I go back to work?

No John. We need the heralds of the Truth. Did she play with Mrs. Miller too?

This is really cool. The song does sound great on the radio, I'm sure as more people hear it that way it will stay on these lists for awhile.

It says single release on June 4th. But it already is released, isn't it ? Or do they mean a CD single ?

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Is TWGMTR going to be released as a single in physical form (CD or vinyl) in the US?

Thumbs up!

It sounds better on the radio than any other place I've heard it - definitely a neat experience for the ears. Smiley

Although, to be fair, I doubt I could hear anything past the huge grin it put on my face.  Grin
