Just downloaded off of iTunes. (Was going to go through Amazon, but sorry Amazon, whoever puts it up first gets my 99 cents). I've heard the "sizzle reel", but otherwise haven't exposed myself to the song much until I could hear the whole thing in relatively good fidelity.

I think it will take more time to digest this. Can't say a lot that others haven't. When they were talking about this song in past months, they weren't really conveying that it was in sort of 3/4 doo wop time. I was picturing a more sort of dramatic ballad, something a bit more modern sounding and less of a throwback. I do like how some of the chords don't resolve the most obvious way. Definitely a lot of Brian and Foskett in there. I can understand using Foskett for all the falsetto stuff. But he sounds like he's in there on some mid-range stuff that Al could have done. I can make Al out in the harmony. Mike seems to be the least discernable in the mix. But I've only listened through a few times.

Production-wise, it's just fine. I don't hear much Thomas-esque stuff going on. It does sound like recent Brian productions and mixes. Still too much reverb for my taste, but the reverb isn't majorily intense.

We should really do a line-by-line breakdown of the song with indications on who is most audible where.

I don't know how useful it would be other than for fun. I think it's all blended too much to tell for sure, other than Brian being up front as the main lead vocalist.

i love the the "thats why god made the radio" part of the chorus in the beginning but the song fell apart after that :/...well the outro is pretty good too.

I don't think that's true, actually. Al is super audible in a couple of places -- "in my car" and "like a prayer" for instance.

Sure, I hear Al there. But it's a big mix of vocals, and I don't think a ton of spots other than those Al bits really stick out in terms of one particular person being super evident.

Song reminds me a lot of the BW version of "Keep An Eye On Summer" from Imagination.  It's not quite as stellar as it has been promoted, but it's not a bad tune.

I think TWGMTR is very much in the style of Ballad Of Ol' Betsy. As Good timin' was a new Surfer Girl (Dennis described it as that and I agree), TWGMTR is a new Ballad Of Ol' Betsy (Boob  Grin)

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I bought my copy on ITunes last night and I've listened to it 5 or 6 times already.

It's just Drop Dead Gorgeous in every way!

LOVE that little organ/guitar opening -- very retro!

What a nice, very prominent part for Brian.

I don't know what the Young Uns will think, but us Old Guys like it.
