I found an interesting video that is a schizophrenia simulation. I wonder if this is what used to be a typical day for Brian when he was at his absolute worst?  I wonder if this still happens to him now. http://www.wimp.com/schizophrenicsymptoms/

Pizza may be unkind to Brian, but birthday cake has never said a bad word to him.

If my life from my perspective were put on DVD, this would be pretty similar to the commentary track I'd do for it.

Also, poison.

Assholes acting like rain isn't a good time for some people. So typical. If I were schizophrenic, you'd best believe all that poison talk and weathermen telling me I'm worthless would be accompanied by lots and lots of sunshine.

'teh hell are we s'posed to know? We're not Brian, and the video itself says the symptoms vary from person to person.

Considering the fact that he's said he hears, I believe, three different voices and they say hateful things to/about him, I'd say at his worst, yes, he may experience something similar.

Disability simulations are only for sensitization, and they are not attributable to any one person.

That was a really interesting video.

by the way, I guess this would be a good thread to put this in, I was looking up alogia [ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alogia ] and the example conversation they gave reminds me so much of Brian's interviews!

"People can revert to alogia as a way of reverse psychology, or avoiding questions.". No offense meant, but I think that whoever wrote that article might have been actually talking about Brian.  Grin

Schizophrenic patients in a word generation experiment generated fewer words than the unaffected subjects and had limited lexicons, evidence of the weakening of the semantic store. Another study found that when given the task of naming items in a category, schizophrenic patients displayed a great struggle but improved significantly when experimenters employed a second stimulus to guide behavior unconsciously

In all seriousness....not able to view the video, but wasn't the paranoid schizophrenia in Brian's case later ruled a misdiagnosis?
