As you may know-in 1983 Brian missed many shows and so did Dennis.  The last show I know of that featured the five men who took part in the "Surfin'" Recording session in 1961 was on August 3 1983 at Pacific Amphitheater.  Clips of this show appear in American Band.  However, the BBs played the Napa Country and Town Fair the very next night and it is certainly plausible that the full group again was present.  If so that would be the last show with all of them.  Is there anyone here who went to that Napa show and knows the answer?  It would be interesting to know.  They also played the San Luis Obispo County Mid-State Fair on August 7 1983-it is possible that they were all there?  Anyone able to confirm/deny?  Just throwing it out there.

If you get technical, the last time the original-5 lineup played out was 8/26/67.

Les Chan was at the Napa show in '83, I believe. I think he talked to Dennis - may have had his picture taken with him too. I missed it, damn it!

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

Since we know Sept. 27 1983 L.A. County Fair in Pomona was Dennis' last show with the Beach Boys...are we trying to confirm which show was the last DW attended show with Brian also there?

Bruce didn't go to Hawaii, so it was strictly the O.G.B.B.s.

Wouldn't the last time the original Beach Boys played together be around 63 or 64, when David Marks left? Smiley Dave made brief appearances in the early 70s (without Brian) and in recent years without Dennis.

Right-I was simply trying to ascertain if anyone actually attended the Napa show or the show in Paso Robles in August 1983 as these were right after the Pacific Amphitheater show that Brian played-so maybe he played those too.  I know Brian mostly stayed in California after that and didn't join them on the Aug-Sept tour (which DW was on-though he missed some dates)  Brian didn't play the Pomona shows in September and when he did join them in November at the Universal Amphitheater show-Dennis was absent.  So as far as I can ascertain Aug 3 1983 was the last app of all of them together-unless someone knows of a show after that with both Dennis and Brian confirmed???

Well David was around, but he wasn't with them until around six months had passed.

And probably about six shows had passed.

True. They really weren't professional until Dave joined.

so David's got nothing to do with it in this case.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

But the title of the topic is about the original BB line up

The original Beach Boys lineup featured Al, not David Marks.

Mikie is correct.  I was at the Napa concert and Dennis played drums for both shows along with Mike Kowalski.  Bruce was present also.  During the encore,  drummer Scott Mathews, played drums with the band in concert for the first time.  How do I know that?  Scott carpooled with me to the show and he was flying high on the way home.

Any other questions?

Yes. To answer the question that is the whole point of this thread...was Brian there too?

Napa, CA concert-- I reviewed my photos and checked with another fan that I carpooled with.  Brian was not present backstage or onstage at that show.

Thanks Les. So its looking like Aug. 3, 1983 was the last time all three Wilson Brothers were on stage together.
