I know its a bit of an odd choice, but does anyone have a vocals-only or Instrumental version of this? I wish to test out a little idea of  mine...

There was a bunch of mixing session outtakes on, I think, the extravagantly packaged Goodbye Surfing Hello God bootleg boxed set. If memory serves, that's when we learned that Dennis (with Brian's assistance) had incorporated the odd SMiLE riff, skilfully blended in to the instrumentation to the point of inaudibility. I can't recall though whether the sessions included an eventual full instrumental run through. If I get chance between playing work catch-up and changing nappies today I'll check it out - I bought myself a new hifi for Christmas and it's still in the box so this could be the opportunity I need! I always heard CIFTTM in it, were there more references?

It's a frustrating listen as it stop/starts and repeats virtually the same section of the backing track, i.e. the 'Child...' part and the cello section, for 1 min. and 34 sec.

Okay, checked it out –  all the mix attempts (25 tracks on CD 3 of the set) have vocals, and they're in mono, so I'm no help at all. I'm back to changing nappies…

Edit: sorry, that applies to all the COMPLETE run-throughs. There are tag mixes which lack vocals but are bitty and incomplete.

At least you can get the Cello part, that's the best part anyways.  Although it probably doesn't sound as cool out of context.
