Brian's decision to concentrate on the fairy tale during the making of Holland was a source of tension at the time, and probably a big question mark ever since.

I personally love all of the music in Mt. Vernon & Fairway -- the GV box set medley is one of my favorite Beach Boy tracks of all time. The released product leaves me cold, however, and I only wish we had an idea what Brian's true vision might have been.

I have recently been really, REALLY enjoying my introduction to Harry Nilsson, and today my iTunes shuffled into both

Was Brian aware of Nilsson's "The Point!" when the boys were in Holland, was he actually a fan of Nilsson's music at that point (I know they met at some point... In the 70s... Cocaine...) and was "The Point!" if not the inspiration, but a forerunner of Mt. Vernon & Fairway"?

Lime is food? Yep.

Mandarin and Clementine went to meet the entire citrus gang, nobody ate people.

"Fairy Tale Music" in the GV box set is one of my favourite music tracks by anyone.
