I've been keeping tabs on dates being announced, one of the strong rumours is the awesome bonnaroo festival in the US..

Anyway over on the bonnaroo forum somebody "in the know" posted

"First live performance will be at The Grammy's...press conference to follow the next day with tour dates...right around the time Bonnaroo is announced..."

The silence regarding dates has been odd but when you look at it that way, it's a great idea

I hope they play Ingleton Folk Weekend. I'd travel for that one.

I went to Bonnaroo in 2003, 2004 and 2005 and I'm still hungover. I've also heard Phish, Radiohead and The Eagles in the rumor circles.

That would be neat.
I also hope - like I said on another thread - that there will be some appearances on TV shows like Letterman, etc.

BTW there are rumours that the german TV show "Wetten dass....?" (biggest TV show in Europe) will start again in April (they had to abort the show for a while). That would be a great opportunity for the Beach Boys too.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

That's interesting, I thought exactly the same thing when I read about the show's probable restart yesterday. The BBs on it would definitely make me... - well, not watch the show for the first time in decades, but record it. But it's definitely THE show for a Germany BB TV appearance.

I agree. I know the show, but rarely watched it in recent years. The presenter, Thomas Gottschalk, was an unbearably smug person, and he used to grab ladies' shoulders and t*ts (well, by stroking) in ways that I hated. Thankfully they'll have a new presenter (m/f) soon.

But given the status of the stars that attended the programme, and especially the enormous audience it has in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and even Spain (Germans, mind) it would be the ideal platform to have our Boys doing  one or two songs.
