How much will Mike, Bruce, brian, Al and Dave tour with their respective acts before April 27th ? Will they have enough time to rehearse ? I hope there is not much goin' on before the reunion

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I'm sure Mike and everyone else are taking this tour very seriously and I'm sure they will devote a huge part of the first quarter to 1) writing/recording the new album 2) creating a set list and then rehearsing the songs together as a group.  I doubt we'll see any shows before the big one in April.  It wouldn't look right if Mike and Bruce did shows on the anniversary year without the rest of the group--not to mention confuse a lot of fans.  It would no doubt cause some upset fans if they attended a Mke/Bruce show thinking it was the full on reunion.

I'll bet you 50 million dollars that you're wrong about this.  And I'll win. Grin

Not really - Mike & Bruce have had three shows with a symphony orchestra scheduled in Dallas in March for something like three, four months, maybe longer, and that's been up on the 'net for as long. Basic research.  Grin

It wouldn't look right if Mike and Bruce did shows on the anniversary year without the rest of the group--not to mention confuse a lot of fans.  It would no doubt cause some upset fans if they attended a Mke/Bruce show thinking it was the full on reunion.

That's an interesting point. With all the news about the reunion, I doubt if Mike & Bruce will be able to get away with touring as The Beach Boys ever again.

I'm betting the Celebration 50 logo will be prominently displayed on all media pertaining to the 'reunion' shows (it sure is on the German tickets). As for M&B "getting away" with touring under the BB banner... well, they've been doing exactly that since spring 1998, with the blessing of BRI and its four voting members. It's very simple - fulfil the conditions of the BRI-sanctioned license, you can tour as "The Beach Boys".

I know that they've done it for years and that they can "get away" with it legally. But I think that with the reunion (or celebration), things will change for the Mike & Bruce Band. If Mike & Bruce want to go touring with their own band again in 2013, I suppose that it could be a problem. If you announce The Beach Boys, people (casual fans) will expect Brian and Al to be there too.

I'll bet you another 50 million dollars that there's a Celebration 50 logo on the Stuttgart tickets too... or at least, on the one I'm looking at.  Grin

Whoa! Hold on there, partner. Do you seriously think the Greedster gives a flying rat's ass about looking right or confusing fans? Reunion, schemunion-if there's a buck to be made Myke will be there even if he has to show up with dirty sandals and yesterday's underwear. I'll guarantee he'll pounce on every gig he can up to and including the day before the first show in April. Razz

I have a feeling that in some way - and I don't have a clue in which - it could become a problem that the Beach Boys will use mostly Brian's band, yet the "Beach Boys" use that cool group they are using for the last few years (Totten, Christian, etc.). I don't know why but I got some feeling that this might lead to problems. This is the Beach Boys and everything always turned into problems......
