Remembering Carl Wilson from The Beach Boys...born this day in 1946.  See and hear some select songs from the band and solo featuring his unmistakable vocals...http://rockabillynblues.blogspot.com/2011/12/carl-wilson-was-born-this-day-in-1946.html

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

My favorite singer in The Beach Boys. The guy could sing just about any style asked of him. Much missed, but never forgotten. He left us way too early. Happy Birthday, Carl!

Oh Brian
Thou Art In Hawthorne,
Harmonied Be Thy name
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Steak Well Done,
On Stage As It Is In Studio,
Give Us This Day, Our Shortenin' Bread
And Forgive Us Our Bootlegs,
As We Also Have Forgiven Our Wife And Managers,
And Lead Us Not Into Kokomo,
But Deliver Us From Mike Love.

Amazing to think Carl would be turning 65, were he still with us. After all these years, I still love that man dearly. He was such a gracious soul and so blessed with talent. I'll be listening to his distinctive vocals a lot today.

Happy Carl's b-day to us all!

Best voice I have ever heard, dearly missed.  How this reunion would be different with him in the mix.  Was blessed to meet him several times and he was just as one would hope, gracious to a fault.  What you saw on stage was no act.

I truly miss hearing his voice now.  Thankfully there is a lot of music to remember him by.  I agree he was one of the best voices ever.

What a loss. I listened to a few tracks on "Summer In Paradise" yesterday which were recommended to me as a 'second look' at the album. Carl's voice doesn't save the album, but if anything could, his voice could.

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.
