What fans thought of BW 89 back in 89

I bought it in 1988 and quite enjoyed it.  Still think it has many strong points and good songs on it.  I would rate it higher than a few of his other solo cds.  As an 11 year old in 1985, Getcha Back was the first BB 45 vinyl single I ever bought.  Saw the BB live in 1987.  At 14, BW 88 came at a good time and I ate it up.  It was just as I was seriously devouring their back catalogue ad their under appreciated, lesser heard stuff.

I have BW on every format; cassette, vinyl, cd.  I have the words and music promo cd (3 copies - so to the person asking it isn't really that rare) and record with the interviews, the cd singles for, Melt Away, Love and Mercy, Nighttime.  I also have 4 cd copies of the cloth bound deluxe BW 1988 issue.  They are not super rare and can be had for around $10 on ebay if you are patient enough...

Believe it or not, I've never heard "Words and Music" aside from the excerpts on the 2000 Rhino reissue of BW88! Will have to track it down someday.

I've had BW88 on cassette, the original CD (twice -- once BMG, then "upgraded" to non-BMG), and the reissue (twice -- first with the wrong mixes, then with the right ones). I also have an LP copy with an autographed cover that, sadly, my wife won't let me display...!
