Never thought I'd see footage from the Smile sessions. It's mindblowing to say the least.
Now imagine if it was released on dvd. Like this for example (with a little extra imagination):

The SMiLE Sessions DVD Box

Disc 1:

Documentary
Interviews from 66-67 and 2011

Disc 2:

H&V Studio Sessions (with audio)
Good Vibrations Studio Sessions (with audio)

Disc 3:

Other Smile songs Studio Sessions (with audio)

Disc 4:

Inside Pop Complete Footage
Party at Brian's place, playing Smile for the Vosse gang (fall 66/color)

Disc 5:

Piano demos by Brian at his mansion (fall 66/color)
Smile songs played live by BBs

+ Bonus material

Dont forget the Sony port-a-pack video Brian was toying with at the time as well. Would probably look like the missing B&W Hendrix material taped at Woodstock.

To stay realistic, add the raw material of the GV firestation promo film, there's a unused bit with the boys and bottles in the BW A&E docu. And yes, the video with Brian and his friends, even if it's just 1 hour of Brian sitting on the sofa and reading the newspaper, that's good enough.
And to have a bit of Beach Boys, even if it's from another era, all the raw "I Can Hear Music"/"Time To Get Alone" footage from Brian's home studio.
And a comic with the SMiLE album as soundtrack. Like the new H&V film, just for the full album.

But it wasn't. It was mostly instructional videos of how to roll joints. I would truly love to see those videos! I think they are long gone though Sad

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Wouldn't it be a bit redundant after "Beautiful Dreamer" unless you want a documentary that is basically Mike's revisionist history.
