Looking at the tent picture in the booklet, it is very obvious that we have some very stoned Beach Boys on display

The three Wilsons and Mike look completely out of it, believe me, I know stoned eyes when I see them

Compare them to Al and Bruce

This would add credence to the rumours that Mike very much embraced the 60's. I remember reading somewhere on this board that Mike was a big dope smoker.

A revelation to me, and part of my ongoing process in learning to love the Love again.

Mike could legitimately argue that there's a huge gulf between dope and the stuff the Wilsons were imbibing at various times. IIRC every Wilson did hard drugs at some point, which is a totally different problem to smoking weed.

My predisposition to see it as cool is now revealed to the world. (Amongst today's youth though, in the UK anyway, it is now seen as a chav thing.)

I was just surprised, as it seemed to run contrary to everything I thought about Mike during this era. Good, bad or in between, I just didn't see him as a smoker.

Hey, Mike wrote "She's Goin' Bald". He also wrote a song about tropical island cannibalism on that same album, called "Gettin' Hungry (For My Kind of Woman)". He was definitely far out.
