I don't think anyone has posted this before, but damn, these kids nail this:
http://youtu.be/WYV0axHH67w

So I guess this is just a rehearsal, and they also did "Surf's Up" (which sadly isn't posted anywhere). I'm so impressed. They also do a version of "Hide and Seek" (the Imogen Heap song) here: http://youtu.be/R-GgUGMgJco    Also fantastic.

They have a new fan in me!

impressive performance of a SMiLE classic

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

D = veddy noice. Spending all four years of high school in choir, I was expecting this to possibly be good but not as good as it was, especially for a rehearsal.

Have to say, their version of "Surf's Up"... wasn't this good.

And it's not now? That wasn't the teenage kid on a stage doing it, was it? Because if so, yeah, it wasn't too good.

"Our Prayer", however, is damn near perfect. Better than most adult/male covers of it I've heard.

Yup, that was the one. I think the kindest thing I could say was "over-ambitious".

Yup, that was the one. I think the kindest thing I could say was "over-ambitious".

I keep looking for a place to fit
Where I can speak my mind
I've been trying hard to find the people
That I won't leave behind

They say I got brains
But they ain't doing me no good
I wish they could

Each time things start to happen again
I think I got something good goin' for myself
But what goes wrong

Sometimes I feel very sad
Sometimes I feel very sad
(Can't find the right thing I can put my heart and soul into)
Sometimes I feel very sad
(Can't find the right thing I can put my heart and soul into)

I guess I just wasn't made for these times

Every time I get the inspiration
To go change things around
No one wants to help me look for places
Where new things might be found

Where can I turn when my fair weather friends cop out?
What's it all about?

Each time things start to happen again
I think I got something good goin' for myself
But what goes wrong

Sometimes I feel very sad
Sometimes I feel very sad
(Can't find the right thing I can put my heart and soul into)
Sometimes I feel very sad

Oh my. Is the high school singer of Surf's Up a member here? If so, I'm sincerely sorry to hurt any feelings.

haha, i don't think so. s'not me, if that's what you're wondering.

it's not a great vocal, true, but then he's just a kid. i can't think of many songs out there that are harder to sing, at least not as far as pop music is concerned. the only people i've ever heard do it justice are (you guessed it) brian and carl, and that's not a matter of just being partial to their recorded vocals.

It's a nearly impossible song to sing, so I can't fault anyone for not living up.

I just got thrown off by those last couple responses...thought I stepped on some toes.
