I remember this as being a superb tour with Mike Kowalski no longer on drums and I wondered if any decent recordings had ever emerged.

Yeah, this was a great tour for them. Pretty much every tour Michael and Bruce have done since mid-2004 or so has been exceptional. 2008 was the peak.

Oh, crap, yes, that was an outstanding show - 50+ songs and the musicianship was impeccable.

Should be noted that David Marks was part of the BB's lineup on the UK 2008 tour.

I took a friend to The Apollo show who only really knew 'the hits' and she absolutely loved it-every song was excellently sang and played.
I just hope if/when we do get any reunion shows next year, the set is in a similar vein

For new year's eve 2006 Mie and Bruce did a show that was broadcasted on Sirius Radio. The same was done in 2008 I believe (maybe it was 2007). I'm looking desperately for a recording of it since then. Anyone has it ?

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I was the same, took a few mates who only knew the hits too - loved it.
I only have a show from 2004 so a 2008 show would be nice - apparently the Manchester show is out there, somewhere....

Certainly an improvement over Stamos doing it.

Definetly want David at a reunion doing Dennis' songs as a tribute to his childhood friend.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Same here. David does DW's songs justice.
