Does anyone know what font this is?

Back in the old days they used to call it calligraphy.
This is not typeset at all - out of the artist's mind.

oh ho ho hum. okay, "Font" I guess was too specific of a word. but even if these characters were hand-drawn, they clearly follow a consistent letterform.

the reason I asked is because for awhile I've wanted the phrase "The smile that you send out returns to you" as a tattoo.

Every time you spell Smile as SMiLE, an angel's wings are forcibly torn off its body.

Great idea for a tattoo! Smiley

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

A more realistic piece of wisdom than that airy-fairy Indian sh*t would be: the fart you release gently pervades the entire area of your location giving every nose within smell shot a glimpse of your disgusting diet thus influencing the opinions of others about YOU. Therefore fart ye wisely.

Rule of thumb, think BEFORE you post. And THINK how it may affect someone else's feelings.

Check out the Beach Boys Starline website, the place for pictures of many countries Beach Boys releases on 45.

Listening to you I get the music; Gazing at you I get the heat; Following you I climb the mountain; I get excitement at your feet
Right behind you I see the millions; On you I see the glory; From you I get opinions; From you I get the story

Yes Sir!

I always thought this track - whatever be its glorious name - was really cool. Although am I getting it mixed up in my head with The Letter? I haven't heard India- I mean, new song, or whatever, in a while...

The Letter as Brian sang it always sounded like it had an evil first few bars. That's how Injun wisdom sounded to me, like Brian was going for kind of creepy. To scare Smile Brian.

If you're interested, then I suggest you research Art Nouvea type. You can find fonts on the internet (many free to download), but your best choice would be books for truly old letter forms.

Typically, general rules are followed but modifications are made depending on the artist - these are called "swashes" which may be applied to the ascenders, descenders, shoulders, bowls, bars and arms of a letter. Note the "A" and "O".

Then again, if you're taking this to a tat artist - just print out the card and they'll be able to replicate it? It's not like you're gonna be sticking your arm in a laser printer.
