I absolutely love this little piece on Endless Harmony. What else is on the tape?

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

PRO SHOT BEACH BOYS CONCERTS - LIST

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Yeah, that little demo fragment is a keeper. I would definitely sit down and listen to more of it if more existed.

What I would really like to hear is the Sail On Sailor composing tape.

Me too... do you mean the one with Van Dyke... "Cut the rap, Brian!" ...wonder what happened to that.

Was that ever available to hear in any way? I just read Heroes & Villains by Steve Gaines and the mention -- and tantalising description of the tape, including how much better than the released version it was (and I think the released version is real nice!) -- of the demo made me want to hear it even more...

The SOS demo tape was supposedly lost shortly after it was made. But I think I remember somebody on here(AGD? c-man?) saying that it was found not to long ago.

I love Carl to death, but Brian sounds much more 'soulful' on the demo, than Carl does on the finished track.  Just sayin'.

The original cassette was rediscovered several years ago. Van Dyke now has a copy. The original is in safe hands.
