Hi

Could someone with good ears please confirm the lyrics to the line below which is driving me nuts:

#Why don't you run away and spend some time with me.#

The lyrics sites I've been to all say 'with me', but it sounds more like 'within me', not that it makes sense.

Thanks.

Yeah, "with me". I don't hear "within me" at all.. It doesn't really make sense anyway, does it?  Wink

I think Al must be stressing the 'th' part somewhat  Undecided

That said, a truly stunning performance by AJ.

Sounds like "wi-with me". They made it two syllables to fit the music.

I'm still inclined to agree.

It would make sense if a girl sang it.

Wouldn't it also make sense if it was sung from one brother to another brother?

No, that would be incestual.

Right. It's something like "wi-hith me"

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Aren't the lyrics printed in the booklet?

I just add the word "here" to the lyrics whenever I sing along to compensate for the double syllable "with",
