This is gonna be great...got tickets for Clear Lake's Surf Ballroom for a Brian show at the end of July!

Strangely, though I used to vacation every summer at the Lake (I now live in LA), I never once saw a show at the Surf.

The place looks beautiful now--nicely restored--and it'll be a real treat to catch Brian in the setting of my youthful vacations.

My main advice to Brian and company: don't take any small planes outta town after the show. Just sayin'.

He's played there before, he knows the drill.  Smiley

Wonder if Brian will play his version of "Listen to me" at the Surf

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

I, I love the colorful clothes she wears, and she's already working on my brain. I only looked in her eyes, but I picked up something I just can't explain. I, I bet I know what she’s like, and I can feel how right she’d be for me. It’s weird how she comes in so strong, and I wonder what she’s picking up from me. I hope it’s good, good, good, good vibrations, yeah!!

I'm betting he does. Will of course let you know!

Wonder if he realizes he's been there before?

I'm seriously considering going to see this show.  St. Charles is closer to me, but the drive to Clear Lake will be a beautiful one from where I live.  The un-glaciated southwestern part of Wisconsin is gorgeous.  Tickets to the show are only $35 in advance, but I'd have to get a motel room.  I live about 45 minutes from the Riverside Ballroom in Green Bay, which is where Buddy Holly's next to last show was held, and it'd be nice to see the Surf.  I'm talkin' myself into it now.
