Sales are incredibly slow in Calgary, and Edmonton for the Canadian tour.  So much so that I worry it may be cancelled.  I hope not, as Brian hasn't been to Calgary since 1988 and I have great seats to the show.  Hopefully Brian's recent Canadian promo interviews with the CBC, the Strombo show, etc, will help sales pick up.  Speaking of which I have some extra tickets (killer seats!) that I am looking to sell for the Calgary show if anyone is interested.  I am only looking for face value (no scalping here) so if you know anyone who might want some great tickets at a reasonable price please let me know.  Calgary is a great city if anyone is thinking of traveling from near or far.

Extra tix I have for the Calgary shows are:

Orch Pit - Ctr
Row - BBB (actual 2nd row)
Seats 36-37

as well as:

Orch Pit - LC
Row - CCC (actual 3rd row)
Seats - 21-20

PM me if interested...

a few coments

The seats in Vienna Va were only 45 usd.  These were orchestra section seats........very good seats.  Cost was not a concern for me with 14 musicians on the stage.  It occured to me that the crowd may have been smallish because "The Beach Boys" will be there in August.   Those who were not sure about seeing BW doing Gershwin may have saved their money for the August show.  The crowd really responds to greatest hits shows.

If anyone reading this is in that camp, You should go see the Gershwin tour.   To me, that was the best part of the show. Brian was doing his level best on that material.

As for attendance, I just now listened to a NPR item about what a dismal year it has been for concert ticket sales in general.  Brian isn't alone in this regard.

Both the Saratoga and Vienna venues are beautiful outdoor locations where one can spend some enjoyable time both before and after the show.  Take a bottle of wine, a blanket, and sit on the hillside in the shade, get mellow for the show.  Brian has a great band and sounds good and Mike has a great band.  Go out and see them this summer.

Plan to do so in seeing both, I'm seeing Mike's group either at wolftrap or the day before at Innsbruck After Hours near my home in Richmond, VA.

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Really? I've actually never heard anyone complain about giving leads to band members since I've been a fan around 2000.

It was done in the second post on this thread.

Word from Taylor herself is that she's taking time off from Brian's band but will be back.

I have tickets for the show in Montclair, NJ on 6/9. I hope tickets are selling well, but I just looked on the venue site and there are plenty available, as far as I can tell.

Honestly, the ticket prices for the New Jersey and New York shows are high enough to keep most people from going. Too bad, really. Hope that you have a great time though!

Where have you looked for tickets?   I have found in the last few years that a thorough search yields lower ticket prices.  Start with the venue itself.  Call them on the telephone.  Then go to the venues contracted ticket agent if the venue is not handling any ticket sales.   Random internet searches through search engines can get you to some tickets that are 300 % too high.

Brian's series of shows this weekend in New York are 150 per ticket, at a venue whose prices average 20-30.

I paid $75 each for mid-level tickets, row W. The best seats were $95, but I've seen Brian live before, and except for the SMiLE shows, it's not really a visual experience. I chose NJ over NYC because the NJ ones were considerably cheaper and the Wellmont is a nice theater.
