Hey Fellow "smilers"

I was just after some advice in making a personal Carl Wilson compilation cd, kind of an addition to the Billy H DVD.

I am looking for some suggestions for tunes, be it live or studio that have great Carl vocals/performances, even if they are just cameos like for example on Kokomo. Even any live takes that may standout would be a great reference point. I have a couple such as Caroline No and Sufer Girl from the Paramount rehearsals and the better Like A Brother tracks.

Any input would be much apreciated.

Thanks and all the best.

Scoop.

It's not a BBs song, but Carl does a beautiful background part on Elton John's "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" (along with Billy H. and Bruce Johnston).

Also, following along Alex's line is David Lee Roth's California Girls. Carl is very prominent on the background vocals. Nice touch, I thought.

Heck if you're gonna list guest backing vocals, why not something from Ricci Martin, Chicago or Warren Zevon ? Carl's backing vocal is pretty evident with them.  Grin

All roads lead to Kokomo. Exhaustive research in time travel has conclusively proven that there is no alternate universe WITHOUT Kokomo. It would've happened regardless.

You can't be a guest vocalist in your own group. More like Stamos is the guest vocalist for The Beach Boys.
