“Kitty Hawk to Surf City.” If that title indicates what's on the album, I'd rather pass on

a diseased bunch of mo'fos if there ever was one… their beauty is so awesome that listening to them at their best is like being in some vast dream cathedral decorated with a thousand gleaming American pop culture icons.

To sum it up, they blew it, they blew it consistently, they continue to blow it, it is tragic and this pathological problem caused The Beach Boys' greatest music to be so underrated by the general public.

Not saying you are right or wrong, but you are the perfect example why The Beach Boys were considered uncool in the late 60's, early 70's. Base everything on a name without knowing a blessed thing more about the project. Human nature, I suppose. Smiley

The Brianista Prayer

Oh Brian
Thou Art In Hawthorne,
Harmonied Be Thy name
Your Kingdom Come,
Your Steak Well Done,
On Stage As It Is In Studio,
Give Us This Day, Our Shortenin' Bread
And Forgive Us Our Bootlegs,
As We Also Have Forgiven Our Wife And Managers,
And Lead Us Not Into Kokomo,
But Deliver Us From Mike Love.
Amen.  ---hypehat

It's only a "working title", guys.
It's a new Dean Torrence release, so I'll purchase it one way or the other, anyway. Plus, there's Dave Marks on it.  Smiley

How many times have (Jan) and Dean rewriten surf city?  Roll Eyes

And production aside, I’d so much rather hear a 14 year old David Marks shred some guitar on Chug-a-lug than hear a 51 year old Mike Love sing about bangin some chick in a swimming pool.-rab2591

Surf City is Surf City, and Kitty Hawk is  from Kitty Hawk Graphics http://www.pipeline-operaglass.moonfruit.com/#/kittyhawk-graphics/4519684533

Well, my point isn't that it has "surf" in the title but that Dean has re-recorded Jan's material a lot of times (mostly not even a shadow of the great originals) and this title suggests he's done (or doing) it again. And that is something I can't stand. I don't care if there is "surf" or "sun" in the title, just what this specific working title ( “Kitty Hawk to Surf City”) suggests and knowing Dean's other output

Agreed, the whole 1970s rerecordings by Dean were dishonest.

All new and original recordings.  No re-recordings of any J&D material.

Dean's re-recordings are still being marketed as "Jan & Dean":

A huge mistake that keeps doing its damage . . .
