Paul Revere & The Raiders

What do other posters think of them, if anything? I have just got the Kicks Anthology. It's rather patchy, but they really seemed to hit a groove in '65 - '67 with Terry Melcher. Why are they not more well known?

They seem to have suffered the fate that a lot of other garage-ish groups fell into after the 1960s...it just wasn't in vogue anymore. The same thing was happening across the board to so many garage bands...the Troggs, ? and the Mysterians, the Blues Magoos and so on. Shame too, because it's all great music.

Paul Revere and the Raiders were one of the best groups of the 1960s. Mark Lindsay was a god among vocalists.

That string of singles in the mid 60s is as good as it gets. RIP Drake Levin.

Their album are rather patchy, if any try "Here They Come", " Midnight Ride", " The Sprit of 67" and " Revolution" (all produced by Terry Melcher).

I grew up with them, dug em at the time, still love their hits and some album tracks. To me "They Are WELL Known"
